Easter basket for toddler

When I was a kid, I always looked forward to the Easter basket filled with fun surprises and treats.

I love creating Easter baskets for my toddlers that include a combination of fun treats and also something that the kids actually might need.

These Easter basket ideas will hopefully give you some inspiration for filling up your baskets with things your toddlers will love.

A good place to start when looking for ideas is Amazon or Dollar Store.

What do you put in a toddlers Easter basket?

Look for items like:

  • Stickers: Choose from your toddler’s interests and these will for sure be a winner.
  • Bubbles: Refresh your stash for spring and summer. The no-spill ones are genius.
  • Books: Books are always a winner. There are a lot of fun ones with Easter themes like Happy Hoppy or I Love You, Funny Bunny.
  • Play-Doh: Offer as a simple and fun activity whenever you might need it.
  • Favorite snacks: look out for dried fruit, nuts, or any other treats your toddler loves.
  • Tickets to the Zoo: The animals are out this season of the year.
  • Movie Tickets: Choose a popular one for small kids.
  • A Family Game: A fun activity together. The best game for your kid depends on age level.

Easter Basket Ideas for Toddler Girl

What do you put in a girls Easter basket?

Here are some great easter basket ideas for a toddler girl, (some of these ideas will of course fit a toddler boy as well).

Health & Hygiene: Cartoon band aids and gummy vitamins are always fun. A new toothbrush along with a fun toothpaste are other great alternatives. The spinning toothbrushes are extra fun.

Clothing: New socks with cute motives or printed underwear are fun! Or what about a beautiful princess or Easter dress!

Gardening Gear: Does your girl enjoy helping with gardening? Put seeds in her basket along with gloves and a small shovel to start a plant in a mini garden.

Water Bottle: Put in a new water bottle your girl can decorate with stickers herself. I recommend choosing a BPA-free in stainless steel like this one from Klean Kanteen.

Painting or Craft supplies: You can never go wrong with items that promote creativity. Fill up the basket with creative craft supplies like paints, pencils, brushes, glitter glue, play dough, stickers, popsicle sticks, and more. Egg play dough is extra fun for Easter. Sticker books are creative and fun without the clean-up!

Rain Gear: It’s rain season. Playing outside in the rain is fun with some beautiful rain gear like a printed umbrella, a colorful rain jacket, or rain boots.

Room Items: My little girl loves to have fun stuff in her room. Why not consider useful items like fun printed bedsheets or a practical sensor motion night light.

Puzzle: These are great to train coordination and her brain. Go with an Easter motive or something around her interests like horses or unicorns.

Jewelry: Help your girl to be festive for the Easter holiday with a pair of cute earrings. Or mix in a beautiful necklace or ring. This is such a fun kit for Easter.

Bath Supplies: A fun printed bath towel, a fizzy bath bomb, soap, and cute washcloths are all things to make bathing time more fun.

Hair Accessories: Fun hair ties and scrunchies fit perfectly in an Easter basket for toddler girl. Also, a cute hairbrush is a must. I highly recommend getting a tangle teezer.

Easter basket ideas for toddler boy

What do you put in a boys Easter basket?

Here are some great easter basket ideas for a toddler boy (some of these ideas can of course fit a girl as well).

Clothing: A cool and fun Easter outfit, printed socks, or underwear.

Lego or Duplo: This is something that many kids love and is a winner all year round.

A Watch: Kids love knowing what time it is and they’ll feel more responsible.

Books: Books are always a winner. Some great alternatives for Easter are All About Weather or How to Catch the Easter Bunny.

Outdoor Equipment: Why not encourage some physical activity during the best time of year to include active items. Some fun ideas are a sports ball, frisbee, baseball bat, soccer goal, or rollerblades.

Water Toys: It will be hot outside very soon, so don’t forget the water balloons, water squirters, or a sprinkler.

Pool and beach toys to enjoy are highly recommended as well! A beach ball, a beach towel, swim goggles, or a new swimsuit.

Summer Accessories: Get ready for the summer! In the hot summer months these things will be useful. Flip flop sandals or crocs, sunglasses, and a cool sun hat.

Tickets to a Baseball Game or a Soccer Game: A fun family activity. A ticket to see the players in action can be great for an Easter basket for toddler boy!
